LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person was taken to the hospital after a semi-truck crashed into a building in Old Louisville.
Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to a call for service on a report of a motor vehicle collision on South Floyd Street and Breckinridge Street around 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Police said a passenger vehicle was heading westbound on Breckinridge Lane when, for some unknown reason, it disregarded the traffic control device at the intersection, failed to stop and crashed into a semi-truck that was headed northbound on Floyd Street.
Officers explained that the impact caused the semi to lose control and go through a commercial building.
The driver of the semi had no injures. The driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to UofL Hospital where they are expected to survive.
Authorities said there is structural damage to the building. Tow trucks are currently on scene to remove the semi and the passenger vehicle.
LMPD is handling the investigation.
