ID=23776175(WHAS11) -- Lachlan McLean, who for 11 years has hosted the popular "SportsTalk 84" on WHAS AM 840 announced on the air Friday evening that he's leaving Louisville for Charlotte, North Carolina. His last day on the air is May 15. He said he has no job lined up in Charlotte.

McLean and his children will be moving to be with his wife Carolyn Gaeta McLean. She went there earlier this year to be Vice President of Corporate Relations for amusement park company Cedar Fair.

McLean, who is one of the radio station's top personalities, is from Chicago and attended the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics.

WHAS TV 11 hired him in 1999 and brought him to Louisville from the CBS station in Augusta, Georgia. Here at Channel 11 he was our Weekend Sports Anchor and a sports reporter.

In 2002, McLean then moved to WBKI TV doing promotional work. He was hired by WHAS Radio in July of 2004 to replace Tony Cruise on SportsTalk 84.

On his whas.com page, Lachlan says this about getting the job, "I jumped at the chance to pursue a lifetime dream: hosting my own radio show."

The history of that program dates back to Van Vance.
