LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On Friday, a Louisville man filed a lawsuit against Givaudan following the fatal plant explosion.
The lawsuit said Charles Fowler was driving for DoorDash near the factory when it exploded on Nov. 12. The resulting shockwaves triggered his Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) first developed while serving in Iraq.
When he returned home, he received the shelter-in-place order from authorities, meaning he couldn't leave to take orders from DoorDash according to the lawsuit. As a result of this, he said he lost time and money in not being able to take those orders, and will have to seek treatment "for the exacerbation of his PTSD."
In the lawsuit, Fowler accused Givaudan of negligence, private nuisance and trespass to land.
Attorneys have also opened the suit as a class action suit allowing anyone impacted to join.
