LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A new restaurant in downtown Louisville promises to bring a "fresh and innovative approach to Italian cuisine" when it opens later this fall.
Scarpetta Modern Italian will be the newest restaurant located at Fourth Street Live! in downtown Louisville.
"Get ready for tasty reimagined classic Italian dishes with a modern flair," Fourth Street Live! officials said in a social media post on Sept. 20.
According to the restaurant's owners, "scarpetta" translates to "little show" in Italian. However, the term has a more significant cultural significance.
"'Fare la Scaroetta' is an Italian tradition where every bit of sauce is lovingly scoped up wit ha piece of bread -- a testament to a delicious meal that no drop should be wasted," they said. "At Scarpetta, we invite you to feel right at home, savor every bite, and don't hesitate to do you own 'Scarpetta.'"
The restaurant is expected to open sometime in mid-fall of this year.
