SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. — One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a car crash in Louisville early Wednesday morning.
Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to a single vehicle collision on Shepherdsville Road @ Ye Old Post Road around 3 a.m.
Police said a passenger vehicle was heading southbound on Shepherdsville Road when the driver of the vehicle lost control, crossed over the northbound lanes, and hit several trees.
As a result, LMPD said the driver and passenger were taken to UofL Hospital where the driver died of his injuries. The passenger is in critical condition.
Both the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts, officers said.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.
