OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. — A Louisville man is dead after a wrong-way crash on I-71 in Oldham County early Saturday morning.
According to a news release, Oldham County dispatch received a call about a black Dodge Charger traveling the wrong way on I-71 southbound in the northbound lanes around 2:46 a.m.
Two minutes later, dispatch received calls reporting a crash that happened at exit 14. Police said they don't know when Thornton entered I-71 or how fast he was going. Toxicology results are pending at this time.
I-71 was closed for just over 2 hours.
