LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One Louisville man won big this month after buying a Kentucky Lottery Scratch-off ticket.
The Jefferson County man, who wished to remain anonymous, cashed in his winning ticket on June 10.
“I usually just play different ones,” he said. “I usually play the $5 tickets. I don’t know what made me buy the $10 one."
He scratched the ticket while at the Circle K on West Ashland Avenue in the Metro when he revealed the $200,000 prize according to officials.
He said he went back inside and scanned the ticket to make sure he actually won.
The Louisville man said he told his brother the news; he also plans to split his winnings with his brothers and "bank the rest."
He ended up taking $144,000 home after taxes according to Kentucky Lottery officials. The gas station received $2,000 for selling the ticket.
