Head's up Louisville, on Friday  mayor announced the upcoming Hike, Bike and Paddle is canceled.

The bi-annual event is free and thousands typically attend it, and it's normally held on both Memorial Day and Labor Day.

In a statement from the mayor's office, they said Louisville has, "so many incredible events across our city during Memorial Day weekend that we want to support, not compete with, so we are going to focus all our resources this year into one Hike, Bike and Paddle event during Labor Day weekend and make it the biggest and best it's ever been."

The event offers paddling along Beargrass Creek, biking in Iroquois and hiking along the Ohio River.

They hope to announce their plans on Tuesday, May 14.
