LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On Thursday, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg discussed some of the priorities his administration has when it comes to Louisville's economy.
He said his plan is focused on opportunity, and that we are headed backwards when it comes to workers getting advanced degrees.
And Greenberg said the city should not look to the government to provide those opportunities, but to private sectors.
"To make this plan a success, and to help improve the lives of people in every part of our city, we need to buy in from the CEOs of the biggest companies," the mayor said. "And we also need folks that are starting up their own companies right now that are entrepreneurs who don't even have any employees yet, but are looking to make a difference and build a build a big company like theirs."
He said they need all kinds of leaders, like those in charge of nonprofit organizations and of education institutions.
"So having that cross section of individuals, as part of this group who want to partner on implementing it is a recipe for success," Greenberg said.
He said he also wants the state legislator to help the city focus on public safety, make universal Pre-K a reality and help improve affordable housing in the city.
