SEYMOUR, Ind. — Three Louisville men were arrested after authorities allegedly found a large amount of suspected fentanyl during a traffic stop on I-65.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Dec. 5, Indiana State Police (ISP) said a trooper stopped a Chevrolet car on I-65 just south of Seymour, Indiana.

During the traffic stop, police said the trooper found out that the three men in the vehicle might be in possession of illegal drugs.

ISP said 28-year-old Alonzo Dixon, who was in the back seat of the vehicle, fled from the trooper across all lanes of I-65. Multiple law enforcement agencies were able to catch up to Dixon and place him into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, police found a bag that allegedly contained nearly 200 pills that officers believed to contain fentanyl.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Landon Pearl, had additional pills containing a controlled substance on him.

The third suspect, 30-year-old Devon Peach, was wanted on a parole warrant out of Kentucky.

All three men were arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail on preliminary felony charges of dealing a narcotic drug and possession of over 28 grams of a narcotic drug.

ISP said Dixon was additionally arrested on a charge of resisting law enforcement. Peach faced an additional felony charge of neglect of a dependent, and is also being held on his warrant out of Kentucky.

There was an 8-month-old child in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. Child Protective Services (CPS) took the child into their custody.

The three men will have an initial appearance in the Jackson County Circuit Court soon.
