Louisville Metro Arson investigating vacant house fire in Chickasaw neighborhood

It took 25 firefighters about 15 minutes to control the blaze.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville firefighters extinguished the flames early Tuesday morning in a vacant home in the Chickasaw neighborhood.

At about 3 a.m., Louisville Fire Department crews were dispatched on reports of a possible residential structure fire in the 1100 block of South 41st Street, according to an LFD news release.

Crews arrived on scene in three minutes to find heavy fire inside the house where the fire originated. Fire officials said there was also concern the fire would spread to a nearby home.

It took 25 firefighters 15 minutes to control the blaze. No people were found inside the house and no injuries were reported.

LG&E was called to the scene for a down powerline, according to LFD Captain Donovan Sims.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Louisville Metro Arson.
