Louisville Metro expands policies to prevent, respond to child abuse

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Metro Government is expanding its policies to prevent and respond to child abuse in city programs.

Mayor Greg Fischer ordered a review of the policies following abuse allegations related to the LMPD Explorer program.

Among the recommendations from that review include enhanced training and creating a comprehensive youth protection personnel policy.

We learned Monday night the investigation into the Explorer program is now finished. That report is expected to be released as early in April.
