FORT KNOX, Ky. — The Grammy Award-winning Louisville Orchestra has wrapped up their 'In Harmony' tour across Kentucky.
The orchestra traveled to Paducah, Corbin, Frankfort, Bowling Green and finished their tour in Fort Knox on Saturday.
The tour highlighted Bluegrass music that made Kentucky famous and showcased the tension created between tradition and innovation.
Conductor Teddy Abrams said the series is to show the power of music can be felt in any form.
“We know that we're playing for lots of different folks with very different ideas about maybe politics or society. But this is the unifying factor music is something that we all share. And that's the point of this tour, that whether you come from a big urban area, you come from a rural part of Kentucky, we share music, and it brings us together literally, but we have to do something about it, we have to use that power. And that's exactly what this tour is. This is using the power of music to bring Kentucky together,” he said.
Louisville Orchestra will be in concert again at the end of the month when they are conducted by Eric Whitacre.
Whitacre will present some of his own famous works before showcasing Mozart's Requiem on March 22 and March 23.
