Louisville plumbers seeing uptick in calls during deadly cold

Ben Cloud with Maeser: Plumbing and HVAC said they have booked 65 service appointments and they do expect the number to rise.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Plumbers and HVAC specialists have seen an uptick in calls during the freezing temperatures.

Ben Cloud with Maeser: Plumbing and HVAC said they have booked 65 service appointments and they do expect the number to rise.

He said it's important to take care of your system to lessen the strain on it, and to cover your crawlspaces.

"Any cracks, crevices, you want to make sure those are sealed up as best you can as well. Just adjust the rows up and try to keep the demand down," Cloud said.

Other tips he suggested were letting the water drip or leaving it running and opening the cabinet doors so heat can get to the pipes.
