LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville woman is expected to serve 46 years in prison for a deadly 2017 apartment arson.
According to court documents, Danesha Peden pleaded guilty to three counts of murder, one count of first-degree arson, and 15 counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
On Dec. 5, 2017, Peden set fire to a six-unit apartment building on the 3400 block of Shanks Lane. The fire and smoke engulfed the building, causing the three people inside to jump out of windows in order to escape.
Documents show Peden placed the following individuals at risk of severe physical injury or death: Brittany Harris and T.D. inside of Apt 1.; Cierra Johnson and Idallas Moore inside of Apt 2.; Jasmine Johnson, J.J., J.J., Brandon Mulldon, Keaira Bogey, R.B., and Marco Russell inside of Apt 4.; Carla Harris inside of Apt 5.; and Juanisha Saunders and K.P. inside of Apt 6.
Archimeda Riley of Apt. 4 helped her 8-year-old daughter escape through the window. Riley and her other two children, her 16-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, ended up dying as a result of their injuries from the fire.
Penden wasn't eligible for probation or shock probation pursuant, authorities said.
Her sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 5, 2024.
