Man airlifted to hospital after Elizabethtown crash; 3 more also injured

One man sustained serious injuries in a crash Tuesday night and had to be airlifted to a Louisville hospital.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Four men are injured, one with serious injuries had to be airlifted to the hospital, after a crash Tuesday night in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Elizabethtown Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle collision in the 2000 block of North Mulberry Street, according to an EPD news release.

Investigators believe a Dodge Caravan, occupied by four men, was traveling eastbound on North Mulberry Street and attempted to make a left turn into the Super 8 Hotel parking lot.

Authorities say the Dodge Caravan failed to yield the right of way to a Dodge truck, which was traveling westbound on North Mulberry Street.

As a result, the front of the truck struck the passenger side of the van.

One of the passengers of the van sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UofL Hospital in Louisville.

The three other occupants of the van sustained minor injuries, authorities say. The driver of the truck did not report any injuries.
