SCOTTSBURG, Ind. — A man is in custody on Thursday after leading law enforcement on a chase through a neighborhood and disregarding multiple traffic signs, according to a press release from the Indiana State Police.

They say around 9:20 p.m. a trooper was on patrol at State Road 56 near US Highway 31 when he spotted a motorcycle doing a wheelie.

After the bikes front wheel was back on the ground, the trooper attempted a traffic stop.

The motorcycle then sped up and drove through a red light, the release said.

The bike continued to drive away from the trooper. The release says the driver disregarded multiple stop signs and drove off the roadway and through grass.

During the chase, the motorcycle also drove head on at a Scott County deputy before turning.

At US 31 near Fairground Road, the bike left the roadway again and drove between homes in a subdivision.

The driver then abandoned the motorcycle at his home on Jarin Court and continued to run away from law enforcement on foot, the release said.

The driver, 29-year-old Christian Lindebald, voluntarily came out of his home and was arrested without further incident.

Lindebald was taken to the Scott County Jail and is facing charges for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, a Level 6 felony and reckless driving, a Class C misdemeanor.
