Indiana State Police said the shooting happened just after 10 a.m. in the 300 block of West 8th Street.

New Albany Police officers found a 30-year-old man, identified as Johntae Trumbo of Jeffersonville, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to UofL Hospital in Louisville where he died.

All parties involved in this case have been accounted for and there is no further risk to public safety, the release said. Trooper Phillip Hensley assured the community that ISP and NAPD are taking the shootings seriously. He said, "New Albany is a very safe community, it has a lot of people, it has a great police department and supporting agencies for the city." ISP said specific details of this case will be forwarded to the Floyd County Prosecutor's Office for review and they will determine if additional charges will be filed.
