Louisville man receives 25-year sentence for 2022 wrong-way crash

In addition to Thomas Catalina's sentence, he pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide while under the influence, wanton endangerment and assault.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man accused of driving the wrong way on I-65 causing a deadly pile up two years ago has been sentenced.

Thomas Catalina received 25 years in prison and pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide while under the influence, wanton endangerment and assault.

He was charged for the Aug. 2022 crash that killed 26-year-old Rajnu Masoud of Bowling Green.

According to arrest records, Catalina was driving his truck more than 100 miles per hour the wrong way down I-65, hitting several vehicles.

Two other people were injured in the crash.
