Court records show Marc Hibel posted a $10,000 bond on Monday and was released.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The man who was living in the Highview home on Applegate Lane filled with dangerous chemicals and junk has posted bond.

Court records show Marc Hibel posted a $10,000 bond on Monday and was released.

Hibel is to have no contact with chemicals or dangerous substances.

He has been ordered to receive treatment. In a previous court hearing, a judge had recommended Hibel be released to a social worker with Wellspring for mental health treatment.

The 53-year-old was arrested in July when investigators said he admitted to making and detonating homemade explosives.

Hibel was squatting in a neighbor’s house on Applegate Lane.

The EPA began dismantling the home and removal of chemicals on Oct. 16. Crews will also remove the contents inside the home and place them in a steel tank in the backyard to be process. The items will be removed and taken off-site and to a landfill.
