LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Soon, Louisville Parks and Recreation's only indoor pool will be closed for cleaning and its annual maintenance.
The Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center will be closed starting Aug. 1 and will reopen to the public on Sept. 3 at 5 a.m. spokesperson Katey Huffman said.
Huffman said while the center is closed, the pool will be drained, and staff will sanitize both it and the pool deck. After that, contractors are scheduled to re-pipe several facets of the pool mechanicals and install a new boiler.
Other upgrades will include new shower heads, new starting blocks, and a new U.V. lighting system in the warm pool Huffman said.
