LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is headed back to Louisville on Monday, July 6 to say “thank you” to front-line and food bank workers in Kentucky.
The longtime senator will visit Dare to Care and then Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown to thank those in healthcare and food banks while discussing the impact of the CARES Act.
McConnell is also expected to visit addiction treatment provider Isaiah House in Willisburg. Under the CARES Act, the Paycheck Protection Program helped the facility continue vital services while keeping 180 people employed, according to the news release.
The $3 trillion coronavirus relief package was passed by Congress earlier this year.
Kentucky’s healthcare providers have received more than $1.2 billion while the Paycheck Protection Program has helped more than 47,000 small businesses get access to more than $5.2 billion in loans in the Commonwealth.
McConnell's press conferences are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6.
