Metro Councilman Dan Johnson responds to claims he violated agreement

Dan Johnson had previously agreed to a time limit at City Hall, but complaints have been filed he wasn't following the agreement to keep his seat.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Metro Councilman Dan Johnson is responding to claims he violated an agreement which allowed him to keep his seat on Metro Council.

He'd agreed on a time limit at City Hall for only committee and council meetings.

He can only be there twenty minutes before and after those meetings. Council members say Johnson stayed longer.

Johnson says the rule is too vague, and that it was his removal hearing which doesn't fall under "regularly scheduled committee meetings and council meetings."

He also blamed the press for "ambush journalism" and defended a Facebook post claiming his right to free speech.

A three-member panel will meet Friday to decide whether he will stay on the council.
Johnson is accused of sexual harassment which he denies. That meeting is set for 3:30.
