Louisville woman found safe after walking out of a hospital and not coming home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Update: Police said Patricia "Patty Sue" Short was found and is safe. This Operation Return Home has been canceled as of 2:15 p.m. May 31. 

A 70-year-old woman has been missing for the last 10 days after she walked out of a Louisville hospital last week and never returned home.

Louisville Metro Police Department is searching for Patricia "Patty Sue" Short after she left Norton Suburban Hospital on foot May 21 and never came back home.

Authorities say her family is concerned for her wellbeing. She reportedly doesn't have a phone or any personal belongings.

She may be having health issues and appear confused or disoriented. Authorities believe she may be having trouble finding her residence.

Patty Sue may be wearing a white skirt, black and white shirt, black shoes and she may have a black and prink bag with her.
