Mother of 3 found dead on sidewalk, LMPD asking for tips

LMPD homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in the investigation into the murder of a mother of three. Tiffany Thompson, 38, was discovered dead on a sidewalk near Lyndon on Saturday morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- LMPD homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in the investigation into the murder of a mother of three. Tiffany Thompson, 38, was discovered dead on a sidewalk near Lyndon on Saturday morning.

According to police, Thompson was walking alongside New La Grange Road in the early hours of Saturday morning when she was gunned down. Officers said she was discovered by a passerby on the sidewalk, a short time later.

"We don't believe that she was dumped there. We believe that the incident occurred right where she was found in that 7500 block of New La Grange Road,” LMPD Homicide Detective Emily Mckinley said.

Thompson, a married, mother of three, is believed to have been staying in the area with friends that night. Days after her death, her friends were left wondering who could have done this.

"She just was always a very positive individual, always very happy. She just, she saw good in everything,” longtime friend of the victim, Lori Hargas said.

Police said they don't know where Thompson was going, or where she coming from, but they don't think this murder was random.

"As far as if she knew the killer, I can't say that, but obviously I don't think that it’s random,” Mckinley said.

According to police, Thompson was not living with her husband at the time of the incident. Friends said the two were getting a divorce, but police confirm he is not currently considered a suspect.

Mckinley said, "We’re following up on leads right now. We just want to ask the community for any help or any assistance in finding any leads for us."

If you have any information that could be useful for police you are urged to call their tipline at 574-LMPD.
