LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Tracy Faulkner still has some hard days. Her 19-year-old son Stephan was shot and killed outside their home on Ratcliffe Avenue in November 2016.
It was a week before Thanksgiving, his favorite holiday.
"I've accepted it. I've accepted it but I still want justice," Faulkner said.
Three days after Stephan's death there another shooting outside their home. Bullets narrowly missed a child inside.
Stephan's murder remains unsolved.
"I'm not going to give up. That's all I can say. It's a cold case, but I am not going to give up. That's the system. That's not me," she told WHAS11.
Even after losing his life, Stephan gave life to others. He was an organ donor and Tracy says he helped at least five others. His liver and kidney were given to those in need.
On Thanksgiving, she's giving thanks to the family and friends she has despite the son she's lost.
"I am thankful that I am here because they could have wiped out my whole house. So, I am just thankful that I am here. I am thankful for my family's support," Faulkner said.
