LOUISIVLLE - The former Mulligans restaurant property, a landmark in the highlands of Louisville, will be headed to the auction block next week.
The restaurant off of Newburg Road was once known as Kaelin's Cheeseburgers and the home of the cheeseburger. They also served the colonel's original recipe of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Sanders used Kaelin's as one of the first places he introduced his famous chicken in Louisville.
Mulligan's bought Kaelin's and abruptly closed in November last year.
Next Thursday, the restaurant, bar, and coffeehouse, along with all of the equipment will be sold to the highest bidder. The auction will be held at the restaurant located at 1801 Newburg Road at 12:30.
