West Broadway crash leaves 4 injured in Russell neighborhood

Police said the crash caused one of the vehicles to strike a building in the 2100 block of West Broadway early Saturday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Four people have been injured after a crash involving multiple vehicles in the Russell neighborhood.

The incident was reported in the 2100 block of West Broadway around 3:20 a.m. Saturday.

Police found three vehicles involved in the crash with one of them striking a building.

According to police, the Louisville Fire Department had to remove three people from the vehicles. Some of the poles were struck which caused a power outage in the area which left some of the traffic signals inoperable.

Four people were injured including two with critical injuries. All victims were taken to UofL Hospital for treatment.

Metro Police said due to the nature of the injuries, LMPD’s Traffic Unit are investigating.

A portion of Broadway near Dr. W.J. Hodge Street had to be closed while police conducted their investigation and LG&E restored power.
