Multiple firefighters put out blaze at vacant home in California neighborhood

The Louisville Fire Department responded to the 1700 block of Hale Avenue for the reported blaze around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire that left a vacant home damaged in the California neighborhood.

The Louisville Fire Department responded to the 1700 block of Hale Avenue for the reported blaze around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The department said crews found a fire and smoke coming from the back of the home.

It took about 25 firefighters to the fire under control in 15 minutes using multiple handlines.

The property was vacant, and no injuries were reported.

LFD’s Arson Unit is handling the investigation.
