Murdered teen's brother accused of involvement with separate shooting

On Saturday 16-year-old Oscar was gunned down and WHAS11 News learned Monday that his brother is accused of being involved in another shooting.

(WHAS11) - WHAS11 News is taking a closer look at the 16-year-old who was gunned down in Louisville and has learned that this is not the first time his family has been in the middle of a violent crime scene.

It's been a tough few months for the Gonzalez family.

On Saturday 16-year-old Oscar was gunned down and WHAS11 News learned Monday that his brother is accused of being involved in another shooting.

'They said that they had left the house Saturday evening his mother said he felt that he wasn't angry about anything but he was complaining about some boys picking on him,' says community activist Christopher 2X.

Gonzalez's mother is from Mexico and doesn't speak English.

Through an interpreter, community activist Christopher 2x spoke to her.

Police don't have any suspects in Oscar's murder.

Oscar's brother, George, was charged with murder and assault in august for a shooting that happened on Hale Street.

Two teens were shot and one was killed in that incident.

Christopher 2X believes there could be some cultural clashing going on in the west end between Hispanics and blacks.

Those who live and work in the neighborhood where Oscar was killed this weekend say they see a definite shift in behavior among younger residents.

Shawn Haggard lives and works near 38th and Grand and she says the more young people she sees on the streets the more she fears for their safety.

'It's like giving your kid to the wolves and when you give your kids to the wolves you know what's gonna happen,' she says.

Oscar Gonzalez will be buried through a free burial program in the city of Louisville designated for children who've been killed in the city.
