LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Highlands bourbon bar is being recognized as one of the best bars in the nation.
USA Today released its list of the Bars of the Year on Monday, and among the 27 businesses listed was Louisville's own Neat Bourbon Bar & Bottle Shop.
"These bars are the places we love – a mix of old, new and in-between," the outlet wrote. "They’re places with stories to tell, places that should be on your bucket list when you travel and your favorites list where you live."
The article describes the bar, located at 1139 Bardstown Road, as having one of the "best old-fashioneds in town."
"When we opened two years ago, we could've never imagined we'd receive this level of recognition," the bar's owners shared on social media. "We just wanted to share our passion for vintage bourbon and Kentucky history with the world...and now here we are."
Establishments honored with the national recognition were hand-selected by a group of reporters on the national and local levels.
