LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Friday marks one month since Norton Healthcare first announced it had been hit by a cyber attack and still, the company has limited access to many online tools.
The Norton Information Services team noticed suspicious activity on the network and had received a faxed document containing threats and demands on May 9.
Immediately, patients started noticing the impacts and shared with WHAS11 they were having trouble filling prescriptions.
Norton Healthcare said some surgeries, appointments and test results were also postponed or delayed due to the attack.
Patients have since been advised to contact their providers for "any urgent and emergent patient issues."
The hospital system has shared guidance on what patients should do if they are having trouble with scheduling, results or prescriptions.

On May 9, 2023, Norton Healthcare was the victim of a cyber event. In response, our Information Services team proactively took certain systems offline to protect the network and allow care for the community to continue.
The investigation into this event is ongoing. Network applications are being reviewed as they are brought back online.
Unfortunately, this extensive restoration process takes time to complete. As a result, some procedures have been or may have to be rescheduled. Any urgent and emergent patient issues are being addressed, and we encourage patients to call their provider if they have questions. Providing quality care to our patients is always our priority.
