ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Around 5 a.m. this morning, Elizabethtown Police responded to reports of a man armed with a firearm inside the emergency room at Baptist Health Hardin.
The hospital is located at 913 North Dixie.
According to Elizabethtown PD, officers arrived on scene and within minutes made contact with the suspect, who was armed. Authorities say an officer fired his weapon, hitting the subject.
Elizabethtown PD says the suspect was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
A press conference is scheduled for 8 a.m. this morning. We have a crew on the way.
