LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The future of the historic Royal Theater in west Louisville is up for discussion.
Community members, leaders and city officials gathered with OneWest on Tuesday to discuss a revitalization project.
The Royal Theater opened in the 1920s at 18th and Broadway, quickly becoming a cultural landmark. It showcased the latest films and hosted community events.
However, throughout the decades, the theater fell into disrepair.
OneWest is looking to revitalize the property.
The organization said it wants the property to honor the history and legacy of the theater while providing community value.
