LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Hundreds gathered at 45th and Broadway near Shawnee Park for an annual Christmas dinner.
Big Momma’s Soul Food restaurant has been cooking up the dinner benefiting community members who are in need of a hot meal during the Christmas holiday which has been a staple for the past 7 years.
The soul food restaurant served more than 1,300 people and was expecting a large crowd this year.
“We are feeding the masses. Anybody and everybody who needs a Christmas dinner, we are feeding them,” volunteer Angela Bunnee said.
Employees at the restaurant said they served an estimated 500 people.
