LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Tow trucks lined Interstate 65 in Louisville on Thursday to pay their respects to the founder and Co-CEO of Suburban Towing who recently passed away.
According to the company's social media, Irvin Johns started Suburban Towing in 1969 with a single wrecker.
Since then, the company has grown to be Kentucky's largest towing company; now called Suburban Towing, Inc., Johns employed over 80 people and operated more than 100 trucks according to his obituary.
Johns proudest moment, according to his obituary, was overseeing the recovery of a lifetime when his team helped recover the semi that was left dangling over the Clark Memorial Bridge back in March.
He was 80 years old.
