LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A well-known ice cream shop on Dixie Highway has reopened days after someone stole the business' air conditioning unit.
On June 21, Panchitos Ice Cream and Snacks announced on social media it would be closing the Dixie Highway location while staff wait for a new air conditioning unit to arrive and be installed.

The theft came as Louisville is experiencing a prolonged heat wave, with temperatures most days reaching into the mid-90s.
"It will take time," officials wrote. "We don't exactly know when we will reopen, but we will keep everyone posted."
Six days later, staff said the business was back open after having its AC unit replaced.
"Please show us some love by visiting us for some delicious ice cream and snacks," officials shared in an update on Wednesday.
