LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A person is in the hospital in critical condition after they were struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning on Dixie Highway.
At about 4:15 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 5200 block of Dixie Highway near Blanton Lane, according to an LMPD news release.
Investigators believe a pedestrian was attempting to cross Dixie Highway when they were struck by a car traveling northbound on Dixie Highway.
Officers rendered first aid until EMS arrived on scene. The victim was taken to UofL Hospital with critical injuries, officials say.
The driver and vehicle involved in the crash stopped and remained on scene. LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling this investigation.
Delays are expected Tuesday morning on Dixie Highway northbound.
