BEDFORD, Ind. — Two people are dead after a car crash that happened in Jackson County Wednesday afternoon.
Around noon, the Jackson County Sheriff dispatch said they received a call of a car crash in the 2200 block of U.S. 50 involving two vehicles.
Police said the two vehicles involved were a 2007 white Hyundai Sonata that was heading west on U.S. 50 and a 2005 White Chevy Pickup that was heading east on U.S. 50.
The driver of the Hyundai, 20-year-old Trawaun Litzlbauer, and the passenger, 67-year-old Stanley Baughman Jr., both died due to injuries sustained from the crash. They were both pronounced dead on the scene, officers said.
The driver of the Chevy, 43-year-old Charles Callahan, was transported to UofL Hospital and is receiving medical care.
Indiana State Police, Jackson County, Brownstown Fire Department, Brownstown Police Department, and Indiana Conservation assisted with the crash.
The investigation is still ongoing.
