LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two elderly people are dead after a car crash in Bullitt County Wednesday afternoon.
The Hillview Police Department said it happened at the intersection of Old Preston Highway and Preston Highway before 4:30 p.m.
Chief Bill Mahoney said witnesses told them the light at the intersection was flashing red, which means it should be treated as a four way stop.
Mahoney said one car went through the light hitting another car in the intersection. He said they can't say who went through the light.
Another driver involved is expected to survive.
Officers are urging people to avoid the area as all lanes of Preston Highway, from Phillips Lane to Hart Avenue, will be shut down for 2-3 hours.
