Woman killed in early morning crash in Shively, police say

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

SHIVELY, Ky. — A woman is dead after an early morning crash in Shively on Saturday. 

Shively Police Department PIO Jordan Brown told WHAS11 officers responded to the 2500 block of Rockford Ln. on a report of a single vehicle collision around 4 a.m. 

Brown said the driver of the vehicle, a woman in her early 20's, crashed into a utility pole. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, a woman also in her early 20's, was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive. There were no other people in the vehicle. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
