Power outage interrupts Thanksgiving plans for nearly 2,000 Louisville families

Over 1,900 residents in Hurstbourne, Lyndon, and Bellemeade unexpectedly lost power on Thanksgiving.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — UPDATE: As of 1 p.m., the LG&E map reported that the outage had been resolved for nearly all of the homes affected.

The unexpected power outage threw a wrench into several families’ Thanksgiving preparations.

The outage was reported just after 11:30 a.m. according to LG&E and affects nearly 2,000 customers in Hurstbourne, Bellemeade, and Lyndon.

According to the LG&E outage map, the estimated restoration time was 3:30 p.m. but, again, at 1 p.m. the outage was resolved for most of those that were impacted. It is unclear what caused the outage.
