CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — A southern Indiana high school announced it is beefing up security.
Wednesday, Providence High School in Clarksville said it will get a new school resource officer for the 2024-2025 school year. It's a partnership between the town of Clarksville and the school.
Officials said they will split the cost of a full time police officer evenly. The cost is estimated to be around $103,000 a year and includes the officer's salary and benefits.
The town has a similar agreement with Clarksville Community Schools.
