Renovated neurosurgery operating room at Norton Children's Hospital receives 'blessing'

Improvements to the operating room will help provide the region with some of the latest neurological surgical technology in the country.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Norton Children’s Hospital held a blessing for a renovated neurosurgery operating room on Monday.

The room recently underwent a $1.6 million renovation and a grant from the WHAS Crusade for Children paid more than $687,000 of it.

Improvements to the operating room will help provide the region with some of the latest neurological surgical technology in the country.

It will also help children suffering from epilepsy, brain tumors and traumatic brain injuries.

Annually, Norton Children’s Hospital serves more than 215,000 young patients and their families across the region.

Norton Children’s is a not-for-profit hospital and relies greatly on community partners to help children and families.

The WHAS Crusade for Children has been one of those partners for years.
