LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hundreds of thousands of dollars in investments are complete at the park and recreation center in Berrytown.
According to city leaders, renovations at Berrytown Park included an ADA accessible playground, jungle gym, slides, an upgraded basketball court and a new HVAC system for the Berrytown Recreation Center.
Mayor Craig Greenberg spoke during his weekly community briefing and emphasized how crucial it is to take care of the city’s natural spaces.
“These are incredibly important investments that we will continue to make, because we know how they support the health and quality of life for neighborhoods like Berrytown and neighborhoods across our city,” he said.
Metro Council President Markus Winkler said he was excited to bring the much-needed improvements to Berrytown Park.
“These improvements, requested by neighborhood residents through the Berrytown Neighborhood Plan, will provide enjoyment and exercise for people of all ages for years to come,” he said.
The renovations cost nearly $600,000, nearly half of which came from the American Rescue Plan.
Berrytown Park and Berrytown Recreation Center is located on Heafer Road.
