LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- In Lexington, UK basketball fans will soon say "so long" to the bench seats at Rupp Arena. UK announced renovation plans for the downtown arena.
Upper-level chair-back seating and new club areas are coming to Rupp beginning with the 2019 -2020 season. The chair-back seats will be installed in sections 211 through 217 and 228 through 234.
The two club areas will offer amenities before, during and after games for season ticket holders.
As part of the renovation, Rupp will be losing 3,000 seats bringing the total to 20,500.
