VERSAILLES, Ind. — Two Ripley County men are dead after a serious crash in southern Indiana onTuesday.

Indiana State Police said 24-year-old Nathan Vogelsang was driving south on US 421 near County Road 100 North just before 3 p.m. That's just north of Versailles.

Vogelsang lost control of his truck for an unknown reason and crossed into the northbound lanes where he collided head-on with a semi truck driven by 34-year-old Oleh Hrudnenko, police said.

ISP said Vogelsang and his passenger, 19-year-old Landen J. W. Comer, were killed in the crash.

Hrudnenko sustained minor injuries.

US 421 was closed for several hours while ISP investigated the crash and crews cleaned up the roadway.

Authorities said the crash remains under investigation, however there are no initial indications that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
