Vinson's family said they are thankful for these swift arrests.

"I am extremely relieved first and foremost as I have been constantly making aware that was the biggest thing was to get everybody safe. LMPD has been I mean awesome to work so diligently on this case and to do so non-judgmental, you know they were very informative," said Raquel Black said, who was raised by Vinson.

Black canvased the neighborhood where he was killed searching for answers this week. She said she still has many questions about what motivated this vicious crime, but she is happy the suspects are off the streets.

"The fact that they did this to somebody that I truly loved, as I said its heartbreaking but to know that they cared enough to get out there and get these people is a relief," Black said.

Black said Vinson had struggled with substance abuse problems for years, but that did not stop him from being a compassionate person. Now, in Vinson's memory she is working to increase access to drug rehabilitation programs in neighborhoods where drug use has become a big problem.

"I understand that this is what leads to crime, but if we could try to nip this in the bud I am convinced that crime levels would go down," Black said.
