Man charged in sniper-style shooting of Kentucky football player arrested again

Shane Ragland is now accused of assaulting and threatening his mother and another woman earlier this month.

KENTUCKY, USA — Shane Ragland, the man who pleaded guilty to the sniper-style shooting of Kentucky football player Trent Diguiro in the 90s, has been arrested in Franklin County.

Ragland is now accused of assaulting and threatening his mother and another woman earlier this month.

He was previously sentenced for killing Diguiro in the early 2000s but was freed several years later. Ragland was later paralyzed in a car crash in 2012.

According to Ragland's new arrest citation, on June 15 he allegedly assaulted his mother.

Police said he ran over her legs with his motorized wheelchair, threatened to kill her and then forced her out of the house.

The warrant claims a friend then came over to help Ragland's mother get back into the house, but Ragland then assaulted and threatened her as well.

Ragland's mother told police the threats have been occurring for several months and that she has been afraid to enter the home when he is home.

Ragland has been charged with assault and terroristic threatening.
