LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A foundation that provides custom wheelchairs to people who need them has now taken back its offer to Shane Ragland who pleaded guilty to killing a UK football player in 1994.
Shane Ragland was paralyzed in a car crash in 2012.
The Darrell Gwynn Foundation said it relies on rehab centers to recommend recipients and it had no idea of Ragland's troubled past.
The foundation said it got strong feedback from people who informed them of his guilty plea for killing Trent DiGuiro.
Ragland shot DiGuiro from a distance with a high-powered rifle.
The foundation said giving the wheelchair to Ragland wouldn't be in the spirit of their mission.
